"My problem is this...My wife had some interview videos shot of her family and the files were saved at .M2T. I have been trying to find something that will convert these files into a format that can be used with iMovie 8, so far no luck, they are high def and I don't want to loose any quality. Why Failed to Import M2T files to iMovie?

[*]Reason 1: MTS, M2T, M2TS videos are only compatible with iMovie which run on a Mac with an Intel-based Core Duo processor or better.
[*]Reason 2: It is allowed to import individual AVCHD MTS or M2TS directly from the camera, but it is not possible to import single MTS or M2TS files that are on the hard drive unless the file structure from the memory card is in place.
[*]Reason 3: Due to the wide range of media types, and the different ways manufacturers store video on these media types, not all AVCHD (in mts, m2t, or m2ts) camcorders are compatible with iMovie.

In attempting of importing .M2T to iMovie 8 for smooth editing, you are suggested to transocde .M2T to AIC (Apple Intermediate Codec), the favorite editing codec of iMovie in advance. About Pavtube MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac

This program is good at encoding AVCHD/MOD/TOD camera shootings to different formats (H.264 MOV/MTS/M2TS/M2T/MKV/AVI/MXF, etc.) for editing on more Mac editing software, i.e. encode M2T to ProRes for FCP, encode M2T to DNxHD MOV for Avid, encode M2T to WMV/MOV/MPG for Premiere Pro, etc...Only need to change the step 2.
