Agreed, the benefits definitely outweigh the negative aspects of having one especially if you're in the Advertising/Marketing/PR field. Undoubtedly, It's a great way to network, to maintain connections with former bosses/colleagues, with college friends who currently work in related fields, etc. However, I will say this -- it's a good idea to first figure out if you'll be using your FB as merely another work tool, or if it's simply a way to connect with friends/family. I make the distinction because like many, I think it's important to set clear boundaries between the two. Also, if it's solely to be used as a career aide, then you'll keep that mindset ever present and should your bosses decide to add you to theirs -- you won't have anything to fret about as your page more than likely won't reveal much more than you're already revealing in a professional setting.
